 Welcome to the Art Room 2017-2018~


 Art 8 (8th grade) / Art 1 (9-12) / Art CP (10-12) ~

 Eighth Grade & High School students are given a wide exposure to two and three  dimensional art.  2‑D projects will explore drawing, color, graphic design and computer  skills.  Materials include: pencil, charcoal, pastel, ink, scratchboard, acrylics, latex and  computer technology.  3‑D projects will focus on ceramics and sculpture.  Materials to  explore include: clay, paper, wire, metal, wood, plastics and misc.

  Classroom Assignments:

·           Students are given 1-2 weeks to work on classroom assignments/projects. If a student  misses class time, they will be expected to make up the work either in the art room after  school or will be given homework to catch up (if falling behind).

 General Homework Policy:

·           Art CP Students-- have weekly Homework:(Assignments are given out in class on Mondays and due on Wednesdays). Each Art CP student will be given their own Art Journal/Sketchbook to  enter the homework assignments into. If absent, the homework assignment can be located on this  site and also is sent to CP students' Gmail accounts: @hannahawks.org.

·           Art 8 (8th graders) & Art 1 (9-12) students—Typically do not have homework. However,“extra  credit" drawing or other “extra credit projects” can be worked on during study time  (after academic homework is complete) and can use study period to catch up on missing  classwork.

Art CP Expectations and Homework 2017-2018:

    Art CP Students-- have weekly Homework:(given out in class on Mondays and due on Wednesdays). See Policy details above...

·         Types of Assignments include: drawings, sketches, written notes, written as assignments. (Some assignments are started on the computer and then written/drawn into the Journal/sketchbook).

·        Research for larger assignments and independent projects,also will be entered into Journal/Sketchbook and checked.

·        Art CP students have upper level assignments ...

 Students will be required to create a Power Point Presentation Second Semester (details will be given  at the start of second semester and their Presentations will be given near the end of 4th quarter).

  Art CP HW Assignment #1(Art CP start date: Aug. 28, 2017)--

 Look up (GOOGLE) Elements of Art:

  1. What are the 7 Elements of Art?  List them…
  2. Provide their definitions.

2.      Observe Artist: Nicolas Delort – A Rumor of Angels

3.      Select a section of the drawing and demonstrate a part of the cloud area (from the picture) using curved parallel lines with pencil, draw this method into your journal/sketchbook.

5.      Depict the lamp or the coffee cup using the cross-hatch method with pencil, by drawing this method into your journal/sketchbook.

1.    Start setting up your Power Point /Google Slide Presentation on the computer. Your slides should include: the bullet topics listed below, along with your answers from your Power Point homework Assignments #1-6 (from your journal/ sketchbook)… (Send to my Hanna Hawk gmail to be checked by each Wednesday.)

·          Tell about each career    

·          Incorporate images: drawings, photos, etc.

·          Conclusion: which of the 3 careers appeals to you the most and why?

2.    The bulk of work for this PP Presentation is to be produced outside of class as an ongoing homework assignment over the next few weeks.

3.      Some class time will be allowed to work on your Power Point.

5.      Student presentations will be viewed by the class during Finals week.
