Jack Hines has been teaching music at Archbishop Hanna High School since 2004. He also participates in the school's wilderness education backpacking program where he encourages students to open their ears to the "music of the wilderness."
As head of the Music Department Mr. Hines puts on two student concerts a year - one at Christmas, and one in the Spring. Throughout the year students learn to play the instrument of their choice with an emphasis on melody, harmony, and rhythm. The format is that of a small rock band consisting of guitar, bass, drums, piano/keyboard, percussion, and voice. Students learn how to make music together in a collaborative and creative environment that encourages listening and self expression.
